Member Profile: Geoff Reid
From the age of eight I created spaceships with the basic elements of LEGO® not realising that it would become a passion later on in life. I started serious building from 1995 honing my LEGO® building skills & techniques. I love collecting & customising LEGO ® Minifigures and sets; another passion of mine is building Star Wars™ dioramas.
I recently started building models from Movies & TV Series such as The Munster’s “Munster Koach”, The Great Race “Pie Fight Scene”, Dad’s Army “Church Hall Scene”, Doctor Who “50 Years of Doctors Through Time & Space”, Star Wars Chalmun’s Cantina. I was fortunate enough to have my Monty Python’s Life of Brian MOC displayed alongside Ryan McNaught’s “LEGO® Colosseum” at the Albury Library Museum from December 2014 to January 2015.
Being one of five original AWLUG members who met through ‘Inside the Brick’ in March 2015 which was Albury’s first big LEGO® Exhibition I have displayed MOCS throughout Albury Wodonga, one of my latest creations the T&G Building of Albury gained me and AWLUG a little publicity through PRIME NEWS, WIN NEWS & The Bordermail when I displayed the T&G Building at 'Inside the Brick' in February 2016. My LEGO® collection is housed in my garage which doubles as AWLUG's club rooms.
